Jennifer and Greg - FEAST at Round Hill Wedding

It would be a disservice to Jennifer and Greg for me to try to explain how incredible their wedding was.  Words just don't do it justice.  They planted a tree together.  They had a giant snake at cocktail hour.  Their centerpieces were all fresh produce.  Their favors were homemade honey from Greg's bees.  On top of all that, they got married at one of the best venues on the east coast, FEAST at Round Hill, and everyone at the wedding was simply awesome.  Hopefully my photos will help me convey that better than my words.

Selby and Ronald - Stroudsmoor, PA Wedding

You know when you meet someone and you just know you could be friends?  That's how I felt when I met with Selby and Ronald for the first time.  I was right.  They're such down-to-earth, caring, happy people, and every encounter I had with them was a pleasure.  Their wedding was no exception.  From the beautiful location to the delightful guests to the fact that they wanted to take MORE portraits at the end of the night, I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my 2016 season.

Here are some highlights:

Best of 2016 - Weddings

2016 was a hell of a year for me.  I got to photograph weddings in 6 different states, in 10 different months, at a bunch of different venues, with tons of amazing people.  I got to catch up with old friends, and I was lucky enough to make new ones.  I got to share my passion with some of the most fun-loving and genuine couples on the planet.  I even got to karaoke a Whitney Houston song during a wedding reception.

On top of all that, I got to continue doing what I love for a living.  I enjoy every day on the job.  Not too many people can say that, and I have all the couples who trust me to capture their day to thank for that.  Without you, I'd probably still be managing a crew of high schoolers and college kids at Modell's.  Thank you all for being so great.  Some of the photos in this post were taken while I was working with my good friend and incredibly talented photographer, Dennis Pike.  Thanks, Dennis, as always for the opportunities.

Below are some of my favorite photos of the year.  I wish 2017 all the best in trying to top 2016.

Danny and Bo's Backyard Maine Wedding

I've known Bo for a few years now.  We play wiffle ball together (yes, I'm in a wiffle ball league, Palisades WBL, look it up.)  A couple years ago, Danny started coming to the games to watch Bo.  We'd talked briefly a few times, but what really stood out to me was how she was always there, and more importantly, always providing useful critiques of Bo's game.  Now that's a great woman!  I was thrilled when Danny and Bo asked me to photograph their wedding, not only because it was on the waterfront in Maine, but because they are such a genuinely great couple, both as individuals and together.  Their intimate wedding was filled with laughs, lots of happy tears, and a really great group of people I was honored to be a part of.  Enjoy!

Ro and Garrett's Manhattan Wedding

After having such a great time with Ro and Garrett on their engagement shoot at the American Museum of Natural History, I knew their wedding would be a blast.  I was spot on.  Every decoration, every location, everything they did reflected who they were both as individuals and as a couple.  The whole day was such an authentic celebration of their relationship, and on top of that, everybody had a hell of a time.  See for yourself.

Ro and Garrett's American Museum of Natural History Engagement Shoot - NYC

When Ro reached out to me about her and Garrett's engagement shoot, she suggested two locations.  The first one I read was Brooklyn Bridge Park.  Beautiful area, tons of opportunities, I thought to myself, "good choice."  The next one was the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.  When I read that, I thought to myself, "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!"  I'd never shot in a museum before, and what better one to start with than AMNH?!  We had a blast, and Garrett and Ro were such a pleasure to work with.  I leave you with some of my favorites from their shoot...

Lindsey and Elliot's Long Island Wedding

When Lindsey and Elliot booked me, I was still very new to wedding photography (I think it was 2013, could've been 2014 though.)  I was excited to get to work with them, especially after their engagement shoot which went swimmingly, but even more because it was a chance to try to thank them for trusting me so early on in my career by providing the best work I possibly could.  They were so easy to work with, incredibly laid back all day, and tons of fun on the dance floor.  Just another case for my I-have-the-best-clients argument.

Abigail and Kevin's NJ Backyard Wedding

Abigail and Kevin had me over to check out their venue the winter before the wedding.  Being that all the trees were bare and not everything was finished in terms of landscaping, I wasn't sure what to expect.  I mean, I already knew working with them was going to be a blast, but I didn't know what my plan was for portrait locations and the like.  Fast forward to a couple weeks before their wedding...  They invited me over again to check out the near-ready venue.  BOOM.  My head was flooded with ideas and excitement for their wedding because everything looked amazing.  Now, don't get me wrong, the best part of their wedding was being able to work with such a fun-loving and laid back couple, but the venue surely helped.  I think you'll see what I mean...

Best of 2015

It's 2016!  Perfect time for me to look back on all the photos I took in 2015.  Since, you know, it's over.  Anyway, 2015 was one heck of a year for me.  I photographed more weddings than I ever had before, met some seriously great people who I now consider friends, and worked with loads of awesome photographers and other vendors.  There are a few people I'd like to thank for their help in 2015: Dennis for not getting sick of me after 3+ years on his team, Kyle for the great work in a pinch, Michael for always bringing the jokes and of course the excellent photos, and my assistants Chris and Jillian.  I'd also like the wonderful couples who trusted a weird-looking guy with a pony-tailed goatee with the task of capturing their wedding photos.  They're the reason I love what I do, and I can only hope I lived up to their expectations.

Without further ado, I present to you my favorite wedding photos from 2015...

Caroline and Mike's DIY Backyard Wedding

When I met with Caroline and Mike before their wedding to check out the location at which they would be getting married, I got really excited to work with them.  First of all, they're totally laid back, they complement each other's personalities as well as any couple you could ever meet, AND the venue was incredibly beautiful.  The wedding met every one of my expectations and took it to the next level considering the perfect weather we had and how smoothly the day went. And to top it off, La Bamba (from Conan O'Brien's Basic Cable Band) and his band played a killer set that had everyone on the dance floor the entire night!
